About ORCID

ORCID is a not-for-profit organization, sustained by fees from their member organizations. ORCID is part of the wider digital infrastructure needed for researchers to share information on a global scale. They enable transparent and trustworthy connections between researchers, their contributions, and affiliations by providing an identifier for individuals to use with their name as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities.

ECS has partnered with ORCID to give account holders easier access to the ECS ecosystem by using the same ORCID iD that can be uses on many other websites. ECS values your information and privacy, and will not share the information we obtain from ORCID.

Data Disclosure
ECS will receive your name and ORCID iD from the ORCID system. Your ORCID iD will be stored in our secure database, and is used only to validate your identity and provide access to your ECS account. No data from your ORCID account will be shared with 3rd parties. No data from your ECS account will be sent to ORCID or stored in the ORCID system.

The first time your ORCID login is used for ECS, we may require a second ECS account login so that your ORCID iD can be linked with your ECS account. Once your account is linked, the second ECS account login will not be required for subsequent logins. Once linked, the ORCID account can be unlinked by visiting your member profile page and clicking the unlink button.
