Description
This issue of ECS Transactions incorporates papers presented at the Fifteenth International Symposium on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC-XV), held in Hollywood, Florida, USA, July 23-28, 2017. This symposium was sponsored by The Electrochemical Society, Inc. and the SOFC Society of Japan. This series of symposia was initiated twenty-eight years ago in 1989 in the same location as this one, with the subsequent symposia being held in Athens, Greece (1991); Honolulu, Hawaii (1993); Yokohama, Japan (1995); Aachen, Germany (1997); Honolulu, Hawaii (1999); Tsukuba, Japan (2001); Paris, France (2003); Quebec City, Canada (2005); Nara, Japan (2007); Vienna, Austria (2009); Montreal, Canada (2011); Okinawa, Japan (2013), and Glasgow, Scotland, UK (2015). The objective of this symposia series is to provide a truly international forum for the presentation and discussion of research results and developments related to high temperature solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs). This symposia series is recognized worldwide as the most important event devoted solely to solid oxide cells; the next symposium in this series, SOFC-XVI, will be held in Kyoto, Japan in September 2019.
