This issue of ECS Transactions (ECST) comprises a selection of peer-reviewed papers presented at the 27th national meeting of the Mexican Electrochemical Society (MES) and the 5th meeting of the Mexican Section of The Electrochemical Society (ECS) that were celebrated in Toluca, State of Mexico, Mexico, from June 11 to 15, 2012. The independent peer review was done on all the papers in this issue, primarily by other conference participants. We are indebted to all participants of the peer review process and to the authors who made their revisions quickly. All the submitted manuscripts were revised to various extents in response to peer review, which greatly improved the quality and consistency of this issue.
